Academic Editing Services
With a Bachelor's in Psychology from OWU and a Master's in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from OSU, I have a breadth of experience in academic writing and editing. I specialize in APA formatting and citations and have a working knowledge of all other major citational styles.
If you're a student, please ask about special discounts - I remember too clearly how tight money was in grad school.
1
Copyediting
The purpose of a copyedit is to flag grammatical and syntactical errors, provide suggestions for minor rewrites, and correct punctuation errors. At this phase, alignment with the chosen style guide and general readability are the priority. While a copyeditor can catch redundancies or contradictions within the text, they cannot be responsible for verifying facts and arguments in the work.
2
Proofreading
This is the final pass over a document before submission. At this phase, the work should have already gone through a thorough edit for substance, clarity, and style. The work should also be formatted per style guidelines before the proofreading phase. The purpose of a proofread is to check the final document for typos, misspellings, and large formatting errors.

Bibliography and Citations Formatting
Each style school has different formatting guidelines for both in-text citations and bibliography/works cited sections. I specialize in APA but have a working knowledge of the other major citation styles as I have used them both in my own writing and in editing the works of colleagues. Depending on your needs, this service may be as simple as checking your existing citations and works cited pages for formatting adherence and possible typos to creating them from your notes (providing you have the author, title, and pages for each citation).
